What type of impact did Akon have? And again he's not a rapper, Future is.
I know of Future's and it's huge, he has haters for his influence on the rap game.

No one changed their sound due to Akon or incorporated it in their sound, he might've influenced some August Alsina though idk.
He might've influenced African cats and shyt I don't really know, he's international as fukk.

After "Soul Survivor" dropped, there was a point where artists had songs that sounded like it. Ross's "Cross That Line" and Youngbloodz "Presidential" remix followed the same sound. There's also the fact that he opened up the lane for T-Pain (yes, Pain was his artist, but they still sounded similar). Him opening up the lane for T-Pain, opened up the lane for guys like Future.
