Yeah I agree, trying to convince Republicans that Trump is a clown is a waste of time. They're basically a hate group at this point.

Even before 2016, I've always said that the biggest mistake Democrats make is that they spend more time trying to appease Republican voters than their own base, which never works and just depresses Dem turnout.

They're the WOAT party. Republicans actively try to energize their own base; Democrats actively ignore their own base and try to go after Republicans. It's mind numbing.

Hopefully there will be thorough polls and surveys done that will help explain. I think it will be mainly due to Democratic leadership (backing down too often, not making it clear when Trump is at fault like the DACA situation), folks still believing things are not so bad and fatigue of the news and lack of clarity on the state of the Russia investigation because of how long shyt has gone on for.

I doubt it has to do with immigration like some folks are trying to say it is when polls (from what I recall) made it clear that the overwhelming majority support the Dreamers.
