Viewing inter-racial relationships and marriages as political decisions primarily is Johnson's perspective. Other groups and sections of society may also see it in the same way but that doesn't have to be perspective of everyone else.

As a bi-racial person, she's the product of a HUMAN decision, not a political one and the rhetoric that Johnson was using, whilst not entirely inaccurate, is still VERY problematic.
