I won't say this guy deserves the title outright. But it's a travesty that he is not ALWAYS mentioned in this conversation.

AND he writes his own shyt unlike most of the others (I'm looking at you Ye and Dre)

Let's start here...for the true heads, before Das flipped this....Diamond D

Cat was working with South and West Coast artists in the early 90's when it was taboo

Diamond's always been my pick for best producer/rapper.

His first two albums have been in heavy rotation forever. SBHH is easily one of my favorite albums of all time.

Note: It's funny how Monch mentions Stan Smith's, but they show him rockin' a pair of Rod Laver's. LOL!!

look at the writing credit on a lot of Ye's songs.

you saying he has ghostwriters though, don't you think that's a little different than throwing a line here or there? if you listen to barry bonds he says "i don't need writers, i might bounce ideas... but only i could come up with some shyt like this.." then on monster he says "did the rap and the track, triple double no assist.." i mean, i get where you trying to go but comparing him to dre on the rap tip just sounds stupid to me
