Actually, that's what set them apart, made them dope, and made them stand out from the average rapper. Average NY rappers at that, during that time. Bottom line is, if you understand the 70's, the Blaxploitation era (especially the movies of that era), and Bronx NY daddist slang/pig latin, then you'll understand Camp Lo. What's even doper is that's who they are in real life. They way the speak, the way they dress, is exactly who they are off the records as well. They're some cool ass dudes by the way. I met them and spoke to them several times. Anyway, they showed that New York rappers aren't just lyrical heavy weights.They aren't just the Nas, Wu, Biggie, Pun, KRS type rappers.
