Can someone explain how liberal/more open immigration policy helps black folks?

Are you putting this in contrast to leniency towards illegal immigration or just being against immigration in general (ala Steve bannon too many asian ceos in silicon valley)?

If its the former, I'm for enforcing immigration laws. I'm personally not on that train of completely open borders.

if its the latter, then I'm just for not giving nationalist and budding fascists any quarter on general principle. They can eat a dikk.

I'm just curious if someone can provide an explanation for this?
As far as what's going on now. I don't think there's anything wrong with our current immigration policies. If the goal is to increase enforcement whether that's removing illegal immigrants (start with the criminals) and keeping others from getting in then go for it. I've only felt that Trumps policy seems a bit wasteful. The CBP and ICE have made request on things they need. They don't seem to think building a giant wall is the solution.

So why not ask them exactly what they need and go from there instead of stubbornly attempting to do any and everything in your vision.

Ok this is interesting but doesn't really answer my question though

I don't have an issue. I just asked a question?

Do you have an answer or nah?

Do you consider our current immigration policy liberal/open?

When you say black folks do you mean black Americans?

Huh?

I'm just asking questions.

Why are more and more threads in HL taking the narrative of, well it doesn't matter if it doesn't help black people? Or I only care about how this issue related positively or negatively to black people. :francis:

Oh that's not specific to HL. That's the coli in general and by-and-large a real sentiment within the black community.

The idea is that we have so many problems to deal with ourselves, that we don't have the time or resources to divert to "other people's" issues - unless it directly affects us too.

The second idea is that none of these other groups rally for our causes, so fukk em.

And then when you point out a community in the US that's on a black/brown or muslim/christian alliance, they pull up civil rights violations from the immigrants home country against black folks as proof that they can't be trusted.

Rinse.
Repeat.

Why should I care about something that doesn't improve the lives of black folks?
