I like Charlamagne The God....
...But...
He's not really a "c00n"...but he submits to a lot of "bootstrap" talk when it comes to success, especially considering he's an entertainer on the radio. Thats not a real job. Its a nice career. But its not a real job.
The problem with Charlamagne is that he's an entertainer. He's an urban shock-jock essentially. Entertainers stay talking like they understand the common plight of non-entertainers when it comes to "making it" when they truly don't have any tools for success.
An entertainer is someone who is working a job. They have to audition. They have to be hired. They have to be wanted by people more powerful than they are who have the power to take everything away from them. They're not truly successful. Charlamagne may have money, but he lacks the real power he thinks he has as an entertainer.
What it takes for him and 99% of all entertainers to not just succeed, but to just live comfortably won't apply to 99% of people who read his book.
This is the core problem with letting entertainers write books on success or thriving, when their lives are literally unusual.
I'm prepared to not only dislike the book, but await his countless appeals to consumers who he thinks "don't get it"

Any positive thinking book by an entertainer is destined to be full of shyt. Being an entertainer isn't hard. Being "chosen" is the hard part. It always is. No matter if its Will Smith or Howard Stern telling you.
Charlemagne's job aint that hard to be honest. He's not a wonky political type. He's not a musician. He's not a writer.
I mean he literally goes on the radio, and gossips. I mean most people who start podcasts in their basement could do his job.
All you need to be him is: an internet connection and a lack of behavioral inhibitions.
Dude turns gossip into fake journalistic skills and fills time on podcasts saying dumb shyt that seems to be semi-enlightened.
Don't let these talking heads and personalities fool you. They talk about working hard...but thats basically literally not falling asleep from sitting around and running your mouth.
I mean even Charlie Rose sounds incredibly intelligent when he's doing these convos with various world leaders.
Charlamagne is lucky to even be around with his confrontational brand of discourse.
And again...I'm a fan of his, for entertainment's sake. But you'll never be him because you don't want to live your life like that.
