My thing is, a lot of them aren't in that situation at all.
In fact, if it wasn't for Gawker ripping into the author in the OP constantly, she probably wouldn't have slowed down of felt the need to slow down.
Contrary to Coli logic, there isn't a shelf-life for adult-thottery, anyone with sense and a sustainable upper-middle class income can get away with it until they're damn near in their 50s.
I know a whole lot of women who fukked with that lifestyle who are still doing it, or got married and got to "have their cake and eat it to," and thats the dangerous part.
Because a lot of women (and men) who think the entire thing is sustainable will discover that they were too stupid to keep it up, and they'll end up in the pitiful state those women you're talking about are in.

In my opinion you’re overlooking mounting repercussions, and ignoring cause and effect in the universe. Just fukkin for the sake of it isn’t in harmony with the way life is designed. You’d be hard pressed to show me a 50 something year old thot who emanates true happiness.

I'm conflicted. On one hand I know how influential media can be. But on the other hand i feel like it's always some other underlying factors that aren't being discussed.

So I feel like her blaming a tv show for her romantic failures is a cop out. Even if there was no Sex in the City, these types would still find some fukkery to gravitate to. Millions of people consume media but don't allow it to dictate their lives.
If ur easily influenced by fictional characters ur probably the type to not be able to properly maintain a relationship anyway. It would have been the same if she was talking about Bucky O Hare. Some people are just predisposed to being caught up in waves.

Also Sex and the City was trash. I had friends that adored the shyt and it bored me to death. To DEATH. I worked with enough vapid white chicks allowing anything in their walls. Didn't need a sitcom about it.

A WHOLE LOT of women love this show. I think we really underestimate how much of an impact shows like these have had on man/woman relationships.

Shows like these always have an agenda. in addition to pushing the casual relationship/consumerism agenda, it pushed the gentrification agenda. Why do you think so many white people are moving to NYC? A big part of it is that they want to live the lifestyle that they see on shows like "Sex in the City" and "Friends."

That show warped the minds of a whole generation breh. NYC has that show and Friends to thank for women moving there for the last two decades.

The media shapes reality, especially for young impressionable minds.

I think that her honesty is refreshing. Young girls need to read this kinda stuff from older women.

That's on those dummies. If people cant separate reality from a show with a script they have far bigger issues. Ive seen every episode of Martin hundreds of times but I don't go around throwing people outta my house for small disagreements
