when snoop came out on deep cover. followed it up on the chronic and then doggystyle. dude was the next big thing. but then most of us hated doggfather and then he had the whole no limit album deal. It never felt the same. Dont get me wrong, snoop had hits since then but to me, it hasn't felt the same. Snoop has a nice discography but i compared snoop to that sports team that left points on the table. you should have beat em by 30 but instead you only won by 10

i honestly thought the doggfather was gonna hit like tyson on his comeback from jail. i was drawing parralels to snoop and mike at the time. like "snoop got took out the game, but the hype for his comeback will be crazy." man that album came and went. he missed dre. i know he had daz but dre a visionary in the studio.

perfect comparison. it just feels like their prime years were wasted. even though both could be considered hall of famers.

I was too young to get the full Chronic/Doggystyle Snoop experience so I wasn't really trippin on his Nolimit era like a lot of people do. He had some bangers with them even if he was a little out of place at times. And he made some dope, underrated shyt after all that, on top of the hits with The Neptunes. To keep the Vince comparison going, its like if Vince's raptor era was before your time and you knew him from the nets ownward..you still watching a perennial allstar putting up 20-25 ppg a night and doing this:

so you don't fully feel the disappointment of what could've been...
