I own one got it for $100 its the c720 takes only a few seconds to start up you can use google docs and convert them to Microsoft compatible files plenty of battery life solid state drive which helps with the fast performance and you can download different google apps like games if you like the chrome browser then I think you will like the chromebook for basic tasking and web surfing and you wont need a antivirus.

my company have a few of these so i test them out before issuing them and they're great for web browsing and they're very light so it's easy to carry around. like hayes said, if you want something for web browsing and you use google's services then the chromebook for a couple hundred $ is a great value.

Yes, I own a Samsung Chromebook. I don't even use my Lenovo laptop anymore (unless I have some programming to do).

Serious question...what's the niche these are aiming for? The hardrives are non existent, and it's pretty bare bones as far as hardware inside. Is it for people who want tablet functionality with a keyboard? Not bashing just curious as to what person or lifestyle would rather a chromebook over a tablet or real laptop.

I use it for streaming and web surfing to my tv with chromecast. Fast, light, smooth, and battery last forever. Yeah a tablet is probably better specs/more portable but I got it as a gift and I use it everyday.

I have a booking company aside from my day job so I use the chromebook at coffee shops, bars, basically wherever. All of my work is email/ Internet based anyway so it's a great cheap alternative to basically anything else out there

Didn't know that the specs were better than iPad Air. It runs flawless with chromecast which is what I was looking to do and also has hdmi out as well. My plan is to get the Samsung Note 4 and run that with the Samsung Chormebook 2/Chromecast and I wouldn't need a tablet or a laptop anymore. I cut cable and haven't looked back with this setup.

Went it bought it from Office Max as they were sold out of the 14 inch HP ChromeBook mostly everywhere. This thing is pretty as hell lol and it is an awesome device. Google really has potential with this OS Chrome. I can see it now. I will install Ubuntu later this week to have a dual set up.
