You often hear that what you wear is a reflection of who you are.

We are encouraged to dress well to project a certain image to the world, and to tell others about ourselves.

Yet when a woman dresses provocatively, we are shamed from forming any kind of opinion about the image she projects to society and suddenly the above wisdom goes out the window.

So what's the deal here?

If wearing a shirt and tie says something about you, shouldn't a mini skirt and hooker boots also say something about you? Or perhaps that V-neck blouse + a push up bra?

Seems logical

Maturity keeps an adult from judging a book by it's cover, but it should be understood that those without, said, maturity, can form opinions based on the visuals.

I don't think it's right...But I get it..

I somewhat agree with you but I think the problem with shaming women who dress provocatively is that it leaves a gray area that allows society to slut shame. No I do not think women should dress provocatively but often times when the woman is shamed, it's never "wow she should have more respect for herself". It's often times more than not in the event of a rape case, "what was she wearing?".

Eh, I think the larger issue is when people say how a person dresses themselves = what another person is allowed to do to them. Sure I have my opinions about how people/their children walk out the house, BUT I would never qualify unwanted touches, nasty comments or otherwise as that person somehow "asking" for it. I'm not assuming that's what you're talking about but too often the convo winds up there. Let people live.

No its often time she gets exactly what she wants, attention.

Then its she should have respect for herself.

In real life its never "she was raped cause of what she is wearing.

You not going to tell your daughter, not to be a hoe?:stopitslime:

You basically are slut shaming with this comment"No I do not think women should dress provocatively"

of course I'm going to tell my daughter not to be a hoe and how did I slut shame? I personally do not think a woman should dress provocative but I'm not going to call her a whore/slut if she chooses to do do. She can make her own decisions and render the consequences of those decisions. Not my life.
