paid in full >>> illmatic

dont even get me started on the rest.
I've got Illmatic comfortably over Paid in Full, but I understand how people could see it the other way :yeshrug:

its very close. i could settle for a tie.

the deciding factor is that "paid in full" is more versatile and is practically all-purpose music that you can play wherever & whenever.

after that, rakim blows the rest of nas catalog away.

I got illmatic over paid in full, and I prefer IWW to FTL. Ra's next 2 are obviously alot better than nas's next 2. Stillmatic = 18th letter(ra more technical, nas more creative). TLT > The Master. God's son > 7th seal. SD, HHID, Untitled, LIG, random unreleased joints through the years, better guest features >????

But on some straight rapping shyt, Rakim.

I agree that Paid in Full is more versatile in the way that you described, but that doesn't factor in much for me. :yeshrug:
I'll say this, Nas didn't have 4 albums of that caliber, in a row, the way Rakim did with his first four. But It Was Written is as good as any Rakim album not named Paid in Full, then when you factor in the run of Stillmatic to Lost Tapes, Rakim never returned to past glory the way Nas did. Then when Nas dropped another near classic in Life is Good :ahh:
Not to mention all the classic guest appearances.
Slaying Jay in the battle. Imagine if Ra had gone directly at Kane and killed him :krs:
At the end of the day, I'm fine with anyone saying "Ra's first four albums are amazing and Nas was never that consistent" I just look at everything and for me I'm going with Nas. :ohlawd:
