Why is it that i tend to see so many interracial couples in smaller towns than in big cities in the US?

I remember back in December me and my girl took a roadtrip driving from Miami FL all the way to San El Paso TX. Long story.
But anyway we took our time and stopped and chilled in many small towns and other cties (Orlando, New Orleans, San Antonio). I cant remember the names of these small towns but one thing i noticed is how common interracial couples were.

• Like we stopped at a WalMart somewhere in FL and remember seeing this white dude all hiphopped out and i remember laughing at the clothes he was rocking. THen a few minutes later i see in the parking lot with his black quees and mixed baby in the shopping cart full of groceries and i'm like
• We stopped in another small town and went to a LongHorn for dinner. I remember seeing this dude comein. Homie looked like FRED THOMPSON reincarnated. Big ol' country mother fukker. I remember looking at him thinking he's a redneck for sure.Then as he's walking out i see a fine ass black woman and her too obviously mixed children

I'm fine with it but just saying based on the perception we tent to have of small town (especially in the South) you typically wouldnt expect that. Me and my homegirl took a little drive to an area near the Atlanta Motor Speedway yesterday. This place is way down near Perrin GA. Again, it was interracial couples after interracial couples there.
Or maybe i just notice it there more since i'm on guard due to the perception and paying attention.

Hell, I live in Pittsburgh and of course there's some interracial couples, but go to smaller boroughs or cities outside of Pittsburgh (Mckees Rocks, Mt Oliver, Greentree, Alliquipa) and it seems like nothing but interracial couples. I joke with my wife like "Im one of the only black men in the Pittsburgh/surrounding area that married a black woman"

I gotta say the only major city that I've been to where i felt there was an overwhelming amount of interracial couples was Paris, France. Seems like you cant find a black man without a white chick or a white dude without his black woman, there.

I see a few in the suburbs in Atlanta. In Miami its more blacks and latinas. Didnt notice many in NY but then again i wasnt paying attention.

This is very true. My parents live in Elkton, Maryland. Which is hick country. So hick that the KKK had a meeting there last summer. Yet, I know from living/working in the area that there are hundreds of beige kids running around. Each time I go into Wal-Mart back home, I'm bound to see 2 or 3 mixed kids.

not unusual here, i've seen samoan + indian, guamanian + iranian, black and indian, black and samoan, mexican and black, white and asian, PR and black, pr and white, filipino + everything

Not really. Though when I'm in NYC I see mostly White/Asian couples. Other than that, I rarely see IR couples around here. For a massive diverse city here, most people seem to keep to their own kind pretty well.

As a person who grew up in a small town, you don't really have a choice. The best way to make sure your s/o isn't going to get a separate invitation to your family reunion is to date outside of your race.

Look at thread title and read the opening post, breh. THis isnt an interracial dating bashing thread. Just bringing attention to the perception of small town especially in the south where all the northern clones think there is a lynching in every other street corner YET you see more interracial couples in small towns in the South than in these big "diverse" cities.
