If everything is split 50/50 then the man shouldnt fuss about leading the household and think he should have a cooked meal and clean clothes from her daily 
They both should pitch in on holding the house down and paying the bills then.
But if he wants to lead the household, finances shouldn't be split 50/50 since he is in fact the head.
He should pay the rent and half of everything else if thats the case.
