Nah bruh, when folks think overseas they think top tier EuroLeague or China, where cats where the best imports (US Born players) are making 6 figures or millions. There a leagues in smaller countries where cats aint making shyt. That's one of the main things I wanted him to clear up when I pitched the idea of coming on the show

still even lower rung, I guess its just the "foreign" aspect that got me. I remember reading articles ffrom average players how they have like drivers or an apartment and ish and you just get this image that hey why would a cat leave north america to play in some 3rd world country if he aint at least making decent coin

guess my eyes were still open today

Yeah some guys get those perks which is usually on teams who are doing well financially, but there's a percentage where you make peanuts, don't know if you'll be paid on time etc. I've read articles where guys had to negotiate for meals in addition to their $800-1000 month. It's gotta be rough. But some guys wanna play and have that crack at 6 figures they'll take the low pay.

Like Dre said there's a small percentage of guys making the big bucks.

ya if you're not playing in the first division overseas then you're making minimum wage. the only second division gigs that pay well are in asia and even then they go for ex-nba guys.

only china offers a seven figure salary right now. korea guarantees you $300k but they require overseas players to enter a combine for a draft, and you can't negotiate the terms of your contract after you've been drafted. they literally lock you in a room to sign you to a deal.

@Motife43 you should do another podcast with andre after the season's over, he'll probably see a lot of fukkery playing and living in Mexico

Some places less than that, everybody who play overseas is not making big money, its different leagues, levels, countries, etc.

It's a process, now guys who don't make it to the league but killed in college like a Scottie Reynolds is prolly making great money over there, but guys who you rarely heard about or who play lower level D1 or killing at a D2 is prolly more than likely starting off with a crummy contract over there, but long as they kill and stay dedicated they can make the big bucks as well.
