i would argue that timbaland circa 96' to 01' is the greatest hip hop producer of all time

i know he produced a lot of r&b songs but his style is still hip hop at it's core :yeshrug:

his style of production is STILL yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears beyond other nikkas' production

i just put this 1 on and was over here jammin' like a muthafukka :stylin:

(i know it's all subjective at the end of the day, but man, timbaland was a muthafukka for his sample choices and double time drums patterns :wow: )

U BLOCKED

it's the internet, bruh :scust:

Prince Paul. DJ Premier. Jelly Roll. Battle Kat. DJ Quick. Devante Swing. Manny Fresh. RZA.

Tim changed my ear with One in a Million. I'd say that he's amazing, but not the greatest.

he learned a lot from devante and he also helped devante a lot too. but timbaland was able to do his own thing without him

he wasn't a hip-hop producer predominantly and he cribbed the drum stuff from SMK

timbaland learned the r&b run of things from devante but timbaland is a hip hop producer at heart and was a dj 1st and foremost. devante laid those melodies and keys down. timbaland came with them drums and yeah, him and smk were in the same camp, da bassment so i'm sure they both ate from the same plate while masterin' their styles. i'm sure both took from each other in some, shape or form :ehh:

i know i'm gon catch A LOT of hate for sayin' this, but timbaland's beats from those years hold up better than any other hip hop producer you could name

i think because timbaland found great songs to sample and because he came with creative ways of samplin' the shyt he did, that his stuff stands the test of time the best

then those drums. them drums are outta this world

you can't put a time stamp on songs produced by timbaland from 96' to 01'. they are TIMELESS
