If Brian Pillman comes to the WWF in 1991 does he become a Main Eventer Eventually?

He was a very good to great worker during the early 90s before getting injured. He could talk on the microphone as well as anyone the WWF had at the time, he had the look, etc.

Main Eventer? Nope. No matter how good he was he was too small by vince's standard at the time. he def could have been a solid intercontinental champ at the time though.
I meant eventually become a main eventer, new generation era

No...as a huge pillman fan, absolutely not...hogan, slaughter, warrior, and undertaker were main eventers in 1991. He would've been on or below Mr. Perfect, bulldogs, and bret's tier. And he would've been passed over by hbk and the kliq when they rose....

Great question.

I was a big Pillman fan but it's really hard to say if he ever would have been allowed to develop that "Loose Cannon" persona under Vince's watch. I'm guessing he wouldn't have, at least not to the extent that he did.

Bischoff actually deserves a lot of credit for giving Pillman creative licence to go off the deep end as a character. It backfired on him when Pillman got out of his contract and eventually got to the WWF, but that character change couldn't have happened the way it did without Bischoff's co-operation.

Would Vince have co-signed the development of the Loose Cannon persona if he'd been Pillman's boss since 1991? I tend to doubt it. But that's ironic because I don't think Vince had much interest in Pillman until he realized how well Pillman could play an over-the-top character.

No question that Pillman was headed toward main events before he died, though.

he wouldve been wrestling in hammer pants with owen hart.

i can see it vividly. no joke. and the wwf wouldve fronted on putting the tag titles on them.
Flying bryan and the rocket owen hart...yeah i see it.

Pillman was about as "right place / right time" as austin in terms of showing up in wwf...I definitely could see them main eventing early 1998 PPVs.
