IDK how a soon to be 31 year old coming off an achilles rupture after an already serious calf injury and numerous other leg/foot injuries throughout his career could look at a contract of that magnitude and turn it down point blank. Not after seeing first hand how everything melted down for his teammate who turned down 8 figures for an MLE coming off the same injury thinking he was being clever and playing a long term game or "chess not checkers". No NY endorsements/media opportunities at this point in his career will come close making up for $57 million in pure wages lost and direct access to Lacob and Meyers Silicon Valley investments and resources, and neither NY team is fukking with the fully healthy Splash bros in terms of contending for titles in 2021 either.

Take that fukking money and run man, don't get cute when it comes to $220 million on the table when you've got an injury that virtually no one has ever recovered from :francis:
