The worldwide TV money the NBA is able to make now is commensurate with what top players are earning. The owners will probably lock the players out because of this, but franchise faces like Dame are known from Spain to Indonesia.
They should tinker with the formula to decide who is eligible for a supermax, maybe put more conditionals on a max so that only legit second-tier stars can earn them, but the system mostly works otherwise.
