the last two jobs where I worked in an office, I had my own office. the last job was especially nice because the offices were an old nursing home converted to offices. which meant each person had a private bathroom in their own office. it was sweet.

I worked in cubes before as well. it's not horrible. only thing I hate is people being able to walk up on me and see my computer screen. but if you get one of those covers for your monitor where people can't see what's on your screen, then ur good to go in a cubicle.

if I had to work in the office for my current job, I'd likely be in a cubicle myself. cuz that's what they have in our offices when I went to visit for the most part.

It's really depressing and a toxic environment. There's absolutely NO WAY I can see myself coming to a box in the sky for the next 20-30 years.

Plotting on getting out of corporate in the next two years. shyt ain't for me.
Agreed. I'm still young (25 in a month) so I can plot my way out.
The environment is just downright soul-crushing and toxic. There is no way I can do this for the next 5 years even, let alone 20-40.
It turns you into a drone, with no life or passion inside. I look around my office and I know these people are not happy, you can see it on their face. But they have kids/mortgage and cant do anything about it. It's awful

shyt's rather fly to me.

Got all these women in here trying to out dress each other.

Friday is jeans day. shyt don't make no sense how they be squeezin them bottoms into them jeans Breh.

I kind of wander around as much as I want bullshytting. Somehow I am seen as sort of a vet around here.

The only other jobs I have had are ones where you stand and physically work all day.

Fukc that shyt.

I work in a NOC but it has cubicles and shyt.

The NOCs I worked in before we're all open spaced and I worked more in server rooms and spent more time directly working in workspaces for troubleshooting

(Basically going to different locations within my building and making any standalone system my terminal if needed) but I had my own workspace.

Where in at now we handle IT remotely. I don't mind the cubicle shyt that much. I still do some server room stuff so I get to move around a lil more.

Can even work from home so :yeshrug:

Only drawback is that there isn't any eye candy what so ever

At least you can sit at a desk on your own terms when you work for yourself
Cubicle life is :scust:
Is it really on my own terms though

There were times I worked 12-16 hour days 6-7 days a week for weeks straight when I was working for myself. If I didn't get the shyt done I didn't get paid. I had multiple clients calling all the time... it was like having 8 different bosses. Here Im in for 9 hours, I report to one person, I can go to the gym, I can take off for a half day to handle personal shyt, I can give my work to someone else, I get paid vacations etc etc. I mean yesterday I got treated by a vendor to floor seats at the Hornets/Jazz game :francis: Plus I can quit any time, and I have quit numerous jobs in the past :yeshrug:

I have been on both sides... cube life aint bad. It's a hustle like anything else.

Lets be honest.... u hate cube life cause its a realization that u dont have what it takes to be independent, and u are caught up in meaningless title bullshyt. CEOs and 7 figure execs are "cube life" too breh.
