Can someone explain to me why Brandon Ingram currently isn’t considered the same level of prospect as Ben Simmons anymore? Ingram has comparable raw stats but the advanced stats lean towards Simmons for some reason. Why is this? My eye test tells me Ingram has a much more well rounded game.

Why isn’t Ingram getting more publicity as a future star? National media talk about the Lakers as if their young core has a lot of question marks (because of Lonzo), but Ingram is looking like he will be a Paul George or Kawhi type of wing very soon. His growth in production at his age and experience actually compares very favorably with George, Giannis, and Kawhi. And he won’t turn 21 until September.

How would you rank these prospects?:

Ingram
Simmons
Tatum
Wiggins
Josh Jackson
Jaylen Brown

Its cause he a Laker, plain and simple. Dude has the length and handle to get to the rim pretty effortlessly.

He has a high basketball IQ which allows him to be a good playmaker. He's been playing PG the last couple of games. Nice shooting stroke, need to be more consistent but has range. Tools to be a great perimeter defender. Basically he can be an elite all-around player in this league with very few flaws. Time will tell but I consider him a surefire allstar down the line barring injury.

People dont take him seriously yet because they dont see the tools, they just see the stats. Last year he didnt look good at all cuz his jumper mysteriously vanished. Now the J looks better, hes aggressive going at the rim, hes comfortable handling the ball, and he knows how to get fouled. When he increases his 3 point and fg%, refs start blowing the whistle, and his body fills out, I think he can be better than PG. Maybe not better than Kawhi (PG and Kawhi havent been on the same level in years.) but I can see it. He just needs to stay healthy and hungry.

Outside of Ben developing a J I dont see him getting dramatically better than he is now or changing his playstyle. His style of play has innate flaws, but the numbers will be pretty. Well see how it plays out.

I think he doesn’t get the credit or hype of some of the others because he didn’t light the league on fire as a rookie & also the laker hate plays a part in that now. His advanced stats also may trail Simmons due to the Embiid factor.

I think you could make a case he’s the second or third best wing prospect on that list. But it depends on what you value..he’s showing a lot as a primary handler right now which will help his development even more in the future. He’s impressed me a lot this year.

Compare Ingram to Simmons brehs :dahell:

Raw stats not comparable :mjlol:
16 ppg 46% FG 39% 3P 68%FT 5.3 rpg 3.7 apg 2.5 tov 0.7 blk 0.8 stl

Vs

16.4 ppg 53% FG 0% 3P (!) 57% FT 7.7 rpg 7.3 apg 3.7 tov 1.8 stl 0.9 blk

How is that not comparable? Ingram also doesn’t have an Embiid taking pressure off him every night. He also is way more clutch and reliable in tight games.

Tatum's a year younger and better.
Idk breh, it is possible. Tatum looks funny in the light without Kyrie, but he is so young it is ok. I think Tatum is definitely further along as a scorer and shooter. Ingram is a better playmaker and imo has better defensive potential.

Ingram also doesn’t have to create offense for others he’s a play finisher like a more aggressive Otto porter right now. He will get better and I think he has borderline all star potential but yeah this year there impact isn’t close.
