Death Row..minus the bullshyt all the major players became legends

cant say the same for Bad Boy

Expand on this. What's your criteria for major player. I ask because it seems like it gives an excuse to rappers that didn't make it big, and also slights people who aren't legends, but made it big.

BAd boy...by 94 Death Row was on a slow decline.

The hey day of DR was 1991-1993 with Dre's first album and Snoop's first. After that the quality of the music falls off.

BB was startin to bubble with Mary J and then Biggie... they didn't fall off for another 7-8 years after.

:childplease:

Above the Rim, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food, AEOM, Makaveli. That's at least another three classics.

And most of the artists on badboy where fukked over or shelved, Craig mack, Blakk Rob, G Dep, Day 26, Aasim, Mark Curry etc..
yeah but the music was better.

by 94 DR fell off after Dre left, by 96 Pac died and Snoop left...Dogg Pound left too.... and by 97 is was completely off the rails.

They were living off unreleased 2pac songs until it finally tanked. It's just an extension of the Bloods and have no business acumen.

damn, for real? :ohhh:

do tomica still own the label or is it defunct now? :dwillhuh:

i hate the way eazy was portrayed in the second half of straight outta comtpon. he was the blueprint for the ceo from the street who found his way into music. he set the tone for every ceo that came after him :mjcry:

i still want a great book about him, kinda like how pimp c got a 400 page book, i want somethin' like that on eazy but an authentic book with people who really knew him, not some ol bullshyt. then i'd like to see a great 2 and half hour documentary on him and his life

eazy e was a innovator to the fullest. a real pioneer

All I know with tomicka she's a dirt bag and try to avoid any of eazy other kids besides little eazy..

Eazy was more of a gun enthusiasts than anything.... he would drive around always strapped, so that's why suge would always have a gang of nikkas around if he ever meet or see eazy.

Eazy and to some extent ren was street, everyone else not so much...

Eazy cousin would tell me eazy would have bytches stopped by every hour on the hour... I had to check with my older female cousins to see if they was one of those hoes

In 1994, it would've been Death Row. Dre and Snoop are superstars. They are pretty much running the game at that point. Bad Boy is just starting to bubble and we don't really see the potential until late '94 with Biggie droppin' Ready To Die. In retrospect, it's easy to say Bad Boy. If you pose the same question, but change the year to 1997, it's a different story.
