When he wants to, he's at the same level Kobe was in 1999. He was a great player but not one of the best. Kobe made his huge leap to superstar status in 2000-2001. That's when he went from 22.5ppg to 28.5ppg. Hopefully Wiggins can make that same jump this year.

Wiggins problem isn't physical or skill related. His problem is MENTAL. He's simply too passive and lacks a killer instict. Too many times he's content with being a sidekick watching other guys dominate the ball. And he lacks that alpha male gene to want to be the man.

If he can somehow become less passive and get a killer instinct, then he has the potential to be BETTER than Kobe. Because in terms of raw physical tools he's significantly more talented. And I believe he's also a better natural shooter of the basketball.

Only way they ever become champions is if Wiggins is the #1 option and Towns accepts being #2.

Towns is simply not good enough to be the best player on a championship team. Towns is a Chris Webber level player while Wiggins is a Kobe level player.

His defense isn't bad. That is a lie perpetrated by analytics nerds that never watch him play. As a one on one perimeter defender he's really good. Nobody ever beats him off the dribble. Since he's been playing out of position at SF, some of the more physical small forwards have been able to use their advantage in strength against him in the post. Wiggins is after all only 199 lbs.

Wiggins does struggle with off-ball defense. This is mainly due to lapses in concentration but also because the rest of the team's defense is bad around him.

Wiggins still has a ton of potential defensively. I think he'll be a 1st team All-Defense player now that he's back to playing SG.

You don't know basketball then if you can't see that he's special.

Wiggins combination of size, skill, and athleticism is super rare. Literally only 3 players in NBA history have ever had it as good as him. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Tracy McGrady.

That is who Wiggins is in class with as a talent.

His problem is definitely his passiveness. Dude gotta demand the ball in certain situations. Remember when he took over late and beat the Warriors the season before last? Dude definitely had everything there skill set wise.
