I don't understand how someone would find themselves at the crossroads between what is essentially a far left and far right candidate. I mean I guess I can see the similarities in how they want to handle wars and drugs, but that's pretty much where it ends

For people who put civil rights at the forefront of all policies, it isn't a stretch to see why considering they hold many of the same positions.

I really don't see the Libertarians as being the champions of "civil rights"

I meant civil liberties. Anti- PATRIOT ACT, Anti NDAA, Anti TSA, Anti MIC, Anti-Police State, Anti Drug War, etc..

Green party and Libertarian Party are pretty much united on that front.
