Just got diagnosed with severe anxiety

    I missed out on trips to Africa, relationships, jobs, etc the whole 9 all because im constantly worrying. :aicmon:

    Me thinking about going to the doctor and getting checked out about being anxious all the time came out of the blue, but Ive been battling severe anxiety since childhood. It started coming to a head recently tho. Which is got me thinking about it and doing my own research.

    I would suggest you do not let them put you on something daily. Go to counseling if you have to but I would not fukk with too much medication. It's not for everyone. Some of the anti-anxiety meds will have you wanting to kill yourself or alter the way you view everything. If you want to keep your own thoughts I would suggest going to counseling and maybe having them prescribe you a low grade benzo. You can pop one of those and it's instant relaxation but will only last for like 4-8 hours. They can be addictive so only use them when you are really anxious. It helps carrying the benzos with you too because then you feel like you have a mechanism that can defeat the anxiety. It relieves your anxious thoughts just by having them on your person.

    I hear u but i dont want to take any meds at all.

    I have a aunt that got diagnosed with something similar when she was around my age and they almost instantly got her on a med and she has been right (past 10 yrs) since..shyt scares me

    Weed, Pills, Alcohol. Those are band-aid solutions. Hell, you should be on those to have fun not cause your depressed. Some people enjoy the downward spiral. It's as good as the drugs themselves. Depression and anxiety is a matter of how your mind copes, or doesn't cope with the world at large. Pills don't help. They make it worse. Psychiatrist? When I gave my psych $600 I saw I could come up with money for him, but I hadn't seen $600 in my hand before that I realized my problem was I didn't have enough money and I could help myself. He was telling me I was a smart kid and was telling me stuff I already knew. He was actually mirroring myself to myself most of the time. Some sessions he got me to talk to myself.

    The thing is humans NEED something to do. We NEED to make our own place in the world. We NEED a strong sense of self. Anything less is trying to find yourself and a somewhat satisfied life. The trick is learning your not going to get their fast and that you have your whole life to perfect your SELF and your life. Ask yourself this, What else would I be doing for the next 80 years of my life? Trust me, anything else is just a distraction.

    Real talks, a mental disorder IS a Demon in someways, it will do anything to survive as long as it can while killing you slowly. The depression and anxiety skipped the post cause it was actually helpful to getting rid of it. It doesn't want to go away.

    well like I said a benzo is just to calm your ass down so you can function properly in a situation that you really need to focus on. Say you are taking a test and you are very anxious about it. If you can't control your anxiety you are probably going to have running thoughts and do very poorly. If you had a benzo it would kick in within 20 minutes, you take the test with a clear mind, you are very relaxed and then before you know it the drug is out of your system.

    It's just a suggestion. It's not a longterm fix. If you are that anxious then you need counseling to learn more about what your triggers are.

    I want you to close your eyes, with your feet on the ground, and imagine roots growing from your feet into the ground. Feel the earth and your connection to Her. Dig deep and count down from 10….9….you are growing roots deeper into the earth……8…7…6…5...4...3...2...1…



    You are grounded and secure. Nothing can harm you on this journey…

Picture a bright red apple, or bright red roses…Take in a deep breath counting to 5 and imagine the red light coming from deep within the earth up into your body to rest in your root chakra at the base of your spine.     Now breathe in, bringing down the red light from above. Bring the light down to your base and exhale back into the earth.
