who's the best post player on the team? Kobe
who's the best player on the team that can take a defender off the dribble? Kobe
who's the bigger threat off the pick and roll on the team? Kobe
who's the best spot up shooter on the team? Nash

I understand what you are saying. But the point is this Lakers team is old. They do not have the legs to let Nash run the offense and speed up the offense. If Phil Jackson was the Lakers coach, what duties do you think he'd have Nash do? spotting up.

The lakers have no starting player that can effectively take the ball to the basket and put pressure on the opposing team's defense. So having a Kobe who is willing to pass the ball as your primary ball handler solves a lot of issues for the Lakers. He can take his man off the dribble or kick it out to Nash who's a lethal shooter. Since opposing teams are reluctant to leave Nash open, it opens the floor and gives both Dwight and Kobe more room to operate.
How do you think Lakers went to Finals 3 str8 years???

we lakers fans aren't delusional(well some among us are :russ:), we know the strength and weaknesses of this current Lakers team. And having Kobe as our primary ball handler mask a lot of said weaknesses and make us a better team.

Pretty much, what exactly has nash ball done for his championship aspirations in his younger years? Has it won anybody anything? Yet all of a sudden a 39 year old nash is supposed to make this laker team better than a younger 34 year old kobe who has won 5 championships as the primary ball handler?

Yeah....ok

again my nicca, you are avoiding discussing the points raised in my post by throwing out petty insults. You are the definition of an intellectually-challenged nicca. :manny:

so he didn't win shyt in '09 and '10? dude was averaging 30 points in the playoffs.

in '09 he had 40 points in the playoffs three times. One of those was Game 7 against the Rockets.

Remember game 7 in '10 when he couldn't hit the side of a barn and then finally found his shot late in the 4th with a fadeaway over Ray Allen? Yeah heroball never won him shyt.

Scoring a lot of points doesn't equal hero ball. He scored a lot of points with Shaq too. During the title runs he did a better job at picking his spots. True enough he had teammates that allowed him to do it as well as a coach that knew how to get into his head too. Either way this is not a formula that has yielded championship results before.
