SkiHat and Newzz hit the nail on the head for me. Fact is Lakers tried to keep him. I mean, they offered him the most money, right? And would they have re-signed Kobe if he stayed? Maybe, maybe not. It could have been Dwight's team all to himself next year (and really this year since Kobe is out anyway).

Dwight the player would be useful, Dwight the teammate would not. It seems impossible to cater to his every need. He bytched about not hiring Phil, he bytched about the pick and roll with Nash, he bytched about not getting the ball enough, he bytched about having to play second fiddle to Kobe. What are you supposed to do, basically let this nikka dictate every single move your franchise makes or else he's gonna start complaining?

But dog....we KNEW he was all those things before we traded for him. And in doing so, you should know that's what he wanted with the Lakers. Either give it to him or don't pick him up at all.

Every bytch thinks they can change a dude before she starts dating him. I dont think the Lakers quite knew the extent of what they were getting into, and if they did they probably figured that being a part of the Lakers franchise would mature him and change him.

I wouldn't blame Dwight for shooting the deuces at the Lakers. He was miserable there the entire time and whenever someone is miserable, it typically affects their performance. He didn't like the circus, some of it being HIS fault, most of it being how life with being a Laker typically is. He was surrounded with too much drama, Kobe trying to punk him like Kobe does with Gasol, a wack GM that not only needlessly fired Mike Brown, but replaced him with D'antoni over Phil Jackson. So, it's clear he didn't have faith with that organization. He wanted to go somewhere where it'll be less of a circus, and he just play his game and contribute the best way possible.

I mean lets be real, he's currently HAPPY at Houston. He doesn't have to be dependent in being the top priority in scoring when you have playmakers and pure shooters on the time, he can put in as an asset for rebounding and defense.. something that Houston was lacking last season.

I think most Lakers fans are just pissed because NOBODY leaves the Lakers by CHOICE. To my recollection that never happened before.

Kobe is an exception

You remain loyal to Kobe until he's ready to bounce

Lakers made the right move
There are no exceptions at the expense of your future, bruh.

You wouldn't follow your own advice for any one thing in your life but you're advising the Lakers to do the same? :childplease:

:what:

You're basing this off what exactly? You a mind reader? How do you know what advice I'd follow?

Anyway, like I said, Kobe is an exception

Top 5-10 player of all time
5 rings with the lakers
Secured them a 2 billion dollar tv deal
Considered by many to be the best laker of all time

I could see if we're pitting Dwight or Durant vs Kobe? But Dwight? Nah

1. you aint no lakers fan bruh :comeon:

2. I did say that the Lakers should consider amnestying Kobe regardless whether Dwight stayed or not because we'd be looking at purgatory for the next few years. No high draft pick and no great success in the playoffs.

3. This FO is greatly overrated.

mind reader? Dog...you said the exception is Kobe in a thread where I'm clearly tying Dwight to the future of the Lakers had we kept him.

I've been a Laker fan....but can honestly say I've been turned off by the way the league operates now in terms of advertising the game and the type of fans that are tied to the Lakers turned me off. I feel the same way about the Yankees.

If the Lakers can handle their fanbase, how would handing Dwight have been any different?

Dwight made it pretty clear that he wasn't re-signing with us and the Lakers still did nothing at the deadline. Should have traded him to the Nets for the deal that Celtics got for KG and Pierce. What really hurts is we got nothing for him.

I still don't mind losing Dwight. I don't believe he can be your best player on a title team, but this is where the Lakers fukked up again. I was looking forward to having enough cap space to sign 3 max players and they screwed all that up by re-signing Kobe to a 50 mil deal.

I honestly don't know what the FO is thinking. Our best move now is to tank, but they are keeping the players that will help us win games.

The FO is a mess. They have no sense of direction. Jim Buss is a moron.
