Now there's WAY more people who've signed up, and rightfully so.
When it first came out, I thought it was a joke and didn't offer much at all. 2 years later? I'm going to sign up
The OG users weren't reaping the benefits back then, but now? I think it's a better value than Xbox Live. MS's caking off of the TV apps, and forcing people to have Live to use them on their console. I'm mostly using it for that to be honest. Only reason I copped another one this late in the game is because I already had a Live card in the stash and I know my boys are going to get Halo 4. Outside of that, it's used primarily as a streaming system.
PS3 and PS+ on the other hand is giving people some great deals on games, and in some cases games for being a member. shyt is crazy at the quality of games that they're letting people get.
Also add in the free themes, avatars, early access to betas, cloud saving, discounts on a lot of content... it's a hell of a deal IMO
And going into next generation, if Sony keeps this same business model, it's a good look. Even if they make everybody pay to play, if they keep pumping out this content for PS+ users it's easily more valuable than Xbox Live.
