Lillard just got the best of Kyrie again -- is he (Kyrie) as good as you thought?

There are still a large contingent of you who hold strong to the premise this guy isn't overrated. That's shocking to me. He gives as much he scores, and lately, has been giving up significantly more than he scores.

Excuses?

Knew the supporting cast comment would make it to the first page.

Kyrie 7-20

Deng had 25

Dion 18

Kyrie didn't do sh*t in the last 5 minutes

Lillard looks so good because he is not the best player on his team. Kyrie is the best player on the Cavs. He needs a player that he can play off of and be a Scotty Pippen to because he has to do everything and he is just not good enough. Lillard gets the privilege of playing off Aldridge and that makes him look like the superior player. He doesn't have to worry so much about missing shots and carrying the offensive load. I think Kyrie is better than Lillard and its no question. He just doesn't have the right personnel. Cavs will not win as Kyrie as their best player.

Look at CP3 in LA. First and second round exits his entire career and it will be the same this year. In today's NBA a team can not win with the point guard as the best player.

Uncertain grounds
Do you suggest they trade Kyrie?

:patrice:

Probably not, but then again, if they have serious doubts about him, they may want to consider it because his stock won't get much higher than it is now.

Additionally, the argument can be made that an elite-pg isnt necessarily needed for championships.

However, Im not sure which team would sell the farm for him..and he still can be very good (and probably be more likely to lure LeBron than anything they'd get back).

At the end of the day, you gotta hold onto him through the season, evaluate through free agency, and maybe pull a blockbuster out of no where on draft day if they were to give up on him.
