Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Watching part 2 right now:

Bear Stearns gets bailed out.

Every one else is reminded of Moral Hazard as the Presidential Race heats up:ufdup:

Barack Obama gives a speech to Wall Street about regulating them

Wall Street hits him with the :comeon:

Bush says he's not an Economist. He's an Optimist.:mjlol:

Lehman craps out :snoop:...

From that point on we all remember the shyt hitting the fan.:sadcam:

This is the point where I get really annoyed. They let Lehman die. But then bail out the subsequent firms.
I'm angry just thinking about it.
We needed that reset.

The market is such trash, though.
  1. They lobby to get laws passed to their benefits.
  2. These laws let them get to the point where they were Too Big To Fail.
  3. The gov't saves Bear Stearns because of this.
  4. The market thinks it's the shyt and keeps struggling along.
  5. The Feds don't bail out Lehman, and suddenly the market wants government interjection.

fukk THEM.

The ultimate frustration comes from the fact that there were no actual consequences to anyone except Lehman. None of the people involved or institutions saw any real consequences.

Wait, I know the banks almost caused the economic crisis but you telling me the cause of all that, was nikkas not wanting to be business men so they cheated the system to reduced risk? I thought business was all about taking risks and profiting off it.

Who's saying that?

Side note: I finished watching part 3 and Summers was actually against Gaietner in his ideas to revive the markets.
