“Throughout my life, I have grown up knowing gay [WWE] Superstars and executives,” McMahon told NBC Out (a digital portal on the NBC News website targeted at the LGBT community) in an August 2016 interview.

“It’s always been accepted, but now it’s about getting that message out there.”

McMahon added that WWE is committed to inclusive storytelling and said “when it makes sense … absolutely we will integrate LGBT storylines into our programming.”

WWE didn’t have imminent plans to do so then, but McMahon said there will “absolutely” be an opportunity for an LGBT storyline in the “near future.”

This could finally turn into a reality as behind-the-scenes, McMahon wants a WWE Superstar to portray a gay character and she has a specific person in mind.

She wants Finn Balor to play gay.
There is resistance to McMahon’s idea from her own husband, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who strongly disapproves it.

It’s said that if Balor or a different WWE Superstar portrays a gay character, it wouldn’t be for laughs. The description of her idea of a gay character is “empowered.”

If they do it right he could be a crossover star for the gay community, no homo. They probably won't though.

Sexual preference and race should never be part of the show, especially in 2018. What's the benefit of making a character gay? Will his/her opponent gay bash them in the feud? That'll be great PR for the company :francis:

With how much Stephanie tries to make a big deal about PR and marketing, the Moolah stuff & now this shows how truly dumb/out of touch she is.

The gay community will shyt all over it if the wrestler isn't really gay

Exactly. If they want to play this right, just bring up how Sonya Deville is the first openly gay female wrestler in the WWE and how she's finding success beating Sasha Banks every week :skip:

But for real, they don't even need to bring it up on TV storylines. Just showcase her as a role model when they do that Be A Star bullshyt.

Couldn't they just use Sonya Deville for this? You know, an actual LGBT wrestler? Plus, there's the added incentive of Women's Revolution shyt.

Then again, this shouldn't happen at all. WWE has nowhere near the capability to treat a storyline like this with the class and tastefulness it deserves.

That makes sense...too much sense. Which is why they won't dare...probably use Paige instead :mjlol:
