Now what?
Now what?
This was hastened likely by forcing live service. It looks like the Bungie purchase was a pivot to that, and they’re gonna take major Ls for it.we told yall nikkas that was a horrible purchase, but sony dikk ridders said otherwise ,Bungie was already going down hill with d2 and marathon just put the final nail.. They failed destiny 2, which was their bread and butter and gave people some nonsense nobody asked for.
Sony's financial advisors are garbage and Bungie's leadership with making stupid decisions like moving most the their employees to marathon, which led to pissing off their base .
ignoring D2 issues over the years lead to the loyal D2 players been disgruntled so they weren't gonna buy this and also making a game in a genre that really is not wanted atm.
Would Destiny 3 even sell like that?Biggest recent L Sony has ever took
Wonder if they’ll survive long enough to put out another game
agree , but live service games are lucrative, recurring revenues selling u dlcs every few months, expansions, skins and shyt, i mean eververse , the D2 store was making bungie money...and of course at the time Witch queen came out ( i know acquisitions dont happen over night but u know) and everyone was on bungies nuts so it made sense that Sony though they would continue the momentum. Hence , why they left them alone to run their business as usual...after witch queen came lightfall and it was literally the downfall , went from a highly acclaimed expansion to half ass half cooked DLC.Pay for almost a billion for bungie instead of just remaking bloodborne like demons souls and basically print money breh

Yeah. All these live service games are failing because they dont offer anything new or novel to pull players away. They are cash grabs. Most devs dont even like working on live service games and good people end up leaving the studio to work elsewhere on the games they actually like. Look what happened to Arkane Austin after Redfall. Bethesda after Fallout 76. Destiny 2 was only good because they set out to make a good game first and foremost that live service elements flowed well synergistically with the whole experience.agree , but live service games are lucrative, recurring revenues selling u dlcs every few months, expansions, skins and shyt, i mean eververse , the D2 store was making bungie money...and of course at the time Witch queen came out ( i know acquisitions dont happen over night but u know) and everyone was on bungies nuts so it made sense that Sony though they would continue the momentum.
