PS4 To Cost R$ 4,000 In Brazil, Brazilian Gamers Outraged

On Thursday, Oct. 17, Sony (NYSE:SNE) announced that PlayStation 4 will launch in Brazil on Nov. 29, but the price will be a whopping 3999 Brazilian Reals. Sony’s competition, the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One, will retail for $R 2199 and is scheduled for launch in Brazil on Nov. 22.

To put it in perspective, if the PS4 and Xbox One were to be sold in the United States at that price level, they would cost $1,833.60 and $1008.48, respectively.

I know Brazil has taxes and such but damn.... there is no excuse for the shyt to cost more than an X1 especially where it's the opposite situation the rest of the world, and the X1 comes with a fukkin camera!! And the fukked up thing is.... people are still going to buy the shyt because since the PS4 costs more, the upper class in that country is going to view it as "premium" and is going to buy it. If I lived there, I'll order from the U.S. and pay $300 extra in the import taxes they got over there.

XB1 = 599 Aus

funny thing is the DS4 costs 20 dollars more than the XB1 controller (99 vs 79 )
