Yesterday’s results:

91 days: 8.50

For day 91 of our series the coli gave the Mafia inspired anime a vincetti style score of 8.50 putting it amongst the upper tiers of newer animes.

On to day 92

Rules:

1. The Coli will be rating over 100+ animes and movies.

2. You can rate the anime on a multitude of factors ( Quality, Storyline, amount of filler, animation, etc) BUT YOU MUST HAVE ONE OVERALL SCORE.

3. Users rate the anime on a scale of 1-10
(10 being :salute:king status, 1 being :pacspit:status)

4. The results of the poll will be displayed publicly.

5. Feel free to nominate any anime. The Coli has a 158 page Cosplay thread and multiple platinum anime thread topics so I know the demand is heavy here.

6. I can guarantee you this, despite the other rate..... threads, this one will be completed.

7. Time for votes will last for approximately 24 hours.

8. You can factor in non-Canon movies and arcs in your decision.

.9) Remember..........This is your decision.

10) The poll will be up for 24 hours only so make sure you get your votes in

For day 92 the coli dials 911 with the fire department and calls the Fire Force

O.K., so about Fire Force, 4 episodes in:

  • First off, on the fantastic artistic direction. The drawings are scrumptious. Each shot is delectable for real. The environments are very detailed with fineness, which makes the pretty long and numerous stills beautiful to look at. I wonder how much time it took to produce this and how many episodes they've already done, even if stills help in that regard.
The color palette used is often striking (characters' eyes, the bright blue fluo bands on their outfit popping out in the tern steampunk environment) and adds to the beauty of the shots.
Rhythm is also great and stands out from what I usually see in shonens. Sudden cuts to one scene to another, long sequences abruptly ended... I feel like the rhythm sometimes worked like film rolls. I love all of it. It contributes to giving the show a strong identity from the jump.

  • Atmosphere is off the chains. The settings are obviously very steampunk influenced but it's not overdone. You see clear touches of it, mixed with the traditional Japanese urban aesthetic that I'm accustomed to.

  • The animation is excellent. I fukking love how far we've come in terms of animation. It makes it even hard to go back to old animes like Naruto for example, because we're so spoiled right now :mjcry: How many times do I see a scene in Naruto first gen where I'm like ":beli: this would be so fire if it was animated like Sasuke vs Orochimaru or the Kages fight". I don't know the number of episodes produced yet like I said, but I already know it's not a lot with an animation and drawings like that :russ:

  • Opening and ending are great. Opening got the fire music, the animation and great fight scenes on lock. Action sequences and music also fit perfectly, and that's crucial to the rhythm and the hype of a good opening.
The ending is excellent! :wow: It's everything an ending should be: a melancholic contrast between a rather upbeat music and a retrospective of happy and sad events filled with trauma :wow: Judging by it, I guess that all the nuns of the convent burst into flames at the same time? :picard: This is lowkey scary. I noticed that the Captain of the 5th unit was also one of the nuns. She seemed close to the blonde girl from the 8th, so I wonder why their link changed.

  • Story is intriguing so far and I like some of the themes adressed, like how the firefighters can be considered murderers. In Episode 4, they chase a serial killer who calls them out on doing the same thing he does :leon: I wonder where they're going with this.
And once again, just like what I was talking about with Black Clover, the christian themes viewed by Japanese are always odd to watch. They must love the aesthetic and ritualistic aspects of Christianity. This time they even got an amen in "latum". They always strip the God element to only keep "fashionized" religious customs mixed with magic.

  • Fanservice... is way over done. At least it's short but it's also regular. Episode 3 actually made me laugh with how overboard they went with it. Dude got his hand under a girl bra for no fukking reason whatsoever :dead: why is she even a firefighter with her fireproof jacket opened straight on the tatas :dahell: This shyt was ridiculous. When she fell over his homie I was like lemme guess, he got his dikk in her by accident now :aicmon:

All in all, I like it a lot. Hope it doesn't lose its stride like Demon Slayer did for me. I quit watching in the middle of episode 21
when I saw it was going to be more fukking backstory on the trash ass vampire family. I don't care about them! :damn: What's the point?! :damn:

Edit: why did I write so much? :dahell:
I'm only episode 6 or 7, but I'll vote on this one. It's 8 or 9 so far.
