Not a single thread on here about Mamie till from all the searches I have done. It's something that has been bothering me a bit over the past few weeks as I have been doing some research on my end about her.
So here it is, this is an appreciation thread to the mom of Emmett Till. She passed away in 2003.
This is not a knock on The Coli, but really as a whole I feel like she is often left out of discussions when people bring up the Civil Rights Movement in this country. In fact, when you pull up the Wikipedia page on the Civil Rights Movement she isn't even mentioned at all.
So I think it's appropriate that we have a thread on a true hero. Mamie Till. Helping the Civil Rights Movement and still being gracious till the end despite the injustice and unfathomable pain is true power. They tried to hide what they did to her boy in the 50's. The coli should at least have a thread on her.
