And if so, do you view this as a positive or a negative? :jbhmm:

Do your parents follow traditional gender roles in their relationship?
Do you want a man like your father? Or do you feel like his traditional approach is outdated/archaic at this point?

Happy Womens Day btw :myman:

I'm actually genuinely curious about this, not trying to prove any points honestly.

there might be a cultural shift going on.

My father worked FT plus more, and paid almost all of the bills.

My mother worked FT, cooked 99% of the time, and did most of the cleaning until we got older and were able to do these ourselves.

How did you feel about that then?
How do you feel about that now?

Do you feel like he should have have cooked more and cleaned more?

My dad is traditional but it isn't a bad thing. Before my mother's career took off she worked side jobs, took care of me and my siblings and kept up the house. My dad mowed the lawn, help with meals and whooped me and my siblings if we got out of line or if my mother snitched. There was a balance. They both can cook, my mother is better but nowadays since my dad retired and my mother still works he takes on the roles of a stay at home wife. He does laundry, he actually loves doing that, runs errands and keeps up the house.

My mother still cooks and cleans when she gets home.

Hmm interesting. This sounds like the prototypical traditional family (sans the laundry).

Is this the kind of relationship you want with a man in the future?

I will say that black people are the only ones that play the game where there is a power struggle in the house and look at us.

White women preach that equality and feminist bs but they take their asses home and listen to their man.

My parents believed in traditional gender roles and they have been married for 32 years. My mom has everything that she needs and gets most of the sh1t she wants.
