Was having this discussion the other day was :mindblown: at the explanations I was given for how/why people get "in" a line.

Help me out here :mindblown:

:mindblown: How do you stand in a line? To be in something, it has to be 3 dimensional and clearly has walls/barriers of some sort like a car or a room.
A line is two dimensional. You get on a line and follow the path of the line on the floor, just like in places where there's an actual line on the floor marking the path of the line that you get on.

How can you get in something and not be enclosed? :mindblown:

You "stand in line", as in "line formation". You stand in a circle....a circle formation. :ld:

stand in a circle = surrounded by a circle

formations are starting points, and are no longer definite when movement starts, hence why you can be "in" a formation :ld:
