Kinda awkward seeing Udrich run the offense, and he's got a bland game (:cacpls:smile: but he seems fundamentally sound and did alright last night in a high-pressure game, also saved our ass twice.

Bargnani, another awkward mfer :mjpls: but I like the fact he can draw bigs out, shoot 3's, and play decent defense. Just putting his arms up is enough to (somewhat) intimidate bigs/cause them to change up their shot. He's gaining his confidence. But Woody HAS to let this man ball out in the 4th quarter, and make some game-changing decisions. If he gets more touches the last few mins of the 4th, guarantee we have at least 2-3 more wins than we do. He's an awkward but adept shooter, and even pump faking or putting the ball on the floor, he's solid. Won't front. I like the guy now. :obama:

Everybody else on  watch

There's not enough in any of the Melo photos to declare a foul. There may be contact, but not enough to declare a foul. What about Melo's arm on Hibbert's shoulder in the second photo?

Shump fouled him. What is that you people don't understand? You can't hit a shooter's elbow in the act of shooting. Doesn't matter how slight it is; it's a foul.

Soooooo let me get this straight. When Shump barely touches the opposing team's player who just misses a three BADLY it is a foul. But when Melo gets bumped on the game winner it's not a foul? How about those times where Melo gets slapped upside his head where his headband flies off is that not a foul. If you are going to be calling these little contact fouls for the opposition then you need to call the same type of fouls for the Knicks. There is no consistency with the refs at MSG. And for the most part it's always against the Knicks. If you are not going to call the game fairly on both sides of the ball then what is the sense of playing the game. The Knicks could have put this game away easily many times but they missed open shots and take bad shots. Ill admit that but again this game was taken away from us due to the refs favoring the opposition. It needs to be addressed and Woodson should speak on it. As much as I like him for the most part I wish Jeff Van Gundy was our coach because he would not tolerate this bs from the refs. He would call their bytchasses out already and he would be willing to play people like Murray.

Woodson: Anthony not getting superstar calls

Mike Woodson defended his harsh treatment of Iman Shumpert and lobbied for better treatment by the officials of Carmelo Anthony in a radio interview Thursday.

Woodson said he believes Anthony’s final shot in regulation Wednesday night – a 12-foot turnaround over Paul George – could have been called a foul as contact ensued. The Knicks wound up losing in overtime, 103-96 to fall to 3-8.

Asked if Anthony is not receiving calls normally associated with a superstar, Woodson said on his ESPN Radio show, “Absolutely. I’m not going to shy away from that either. Melo gets hit more than ever. If you go in that overtime game, we were down 6. Melo got whacked coming across middle and there was no call.

“I’ve been at this thing 30 years,’’ Woodson added. “Sometimes I’m starting to wonder what’s a foul and what’s not a foul.’’

Anthony does not do himself favors with the officials. Since last season, when he was the league leader in technical fouls, he has developed a penchant for railing at the referees on the court.

“You got to continue to play through it and not let the officials affect what goes on,’’ Woodson said. “The officials can’t see everything. I understand that. I thought he got bumped on it. He didn’t get the call. You have to move on.’’

The Knicks would’ve won the game had Iman Shumpert not been nailed for a foul on George’s 3-point attempts with 5.2 seconds left. Slow-motion replays showed Shumpert grazed George’s elbow with his fingertips, and George made all three free throws to force OT.

The Woodson-Shumpert feud took on a new dimension when the coach called out the young guard, saying he told Shumpert to attempt to intentionally fouling George before he got a shot up.

“That was the theme coming out of the huddle,’’ Woodson said. “Iman didn’t take the foul. He thought if he got too close, he would’ve pulled the trigger and fouled him in the act of shooting and ended up doing it anyway. He thought the shot was so far back he challenged the shot and wound up nicking his elbow.’’

After the game, Woodson hailed referee Joey Crawford for making the right call and buried Shumpert, who is on the trading block, even further. Woodson and Shumpert spoke privately Thursday morning.

“I’m not sitting here browbeating him,’’ Woodson said. “You say I’m hard on him. I don’t call it hardness. I call it coaching. You guys think it’s hard. It’s coaching.

“You got to learn your players and learn what buttons to push. Who can be challenged? Who can’t be challenged?’’

Woodson reiterated Shumpert made a “mistake,” though the Knicks coach finally acknowledged Crawford could have swallowed his whistle after the minimal contact.

“Some officials may let that go but Joe elected to call it,” Woodson said.

“He’s a young player,’’ Woodson added of Shumpert. “I like to think he’ll learn from this one. If he’s in the situation again, he’ll do the right thing.’’

Woodson otherwise believes taking the Pacers (10-1) to overtime was a positive development for a 3-8 club.

“There’s light at the end of the tunnel,’’ Woodson said. “We competed. It was a beautiful sign to see.’’

I would dumb Woodson, get Nate Tibbetts as coach and work a true system for the team, make everyone have a role on the team for offense and defense, no more picking up aged big name bums and develop what younger talent. Hire a good strength and fitness coach for Melo because he is not in top shape.
