Oh, I forgot about Yellow Cake and Valerie Plame. This was one of the worst parts of the Iraq story. Cheney sent this former diplomat name Joe Wilson to validate the claims that Iraq had bought a bunch of yellow cake uranium to restart his nuclear program. Total bullshyt because it takes massive resources to do this and we let the Israelis bomb his faciilities 15 or so years before. So Joe Wilson verifies that it's impossible for it to have happened because there was no infrastructure footprint for such a massive operation. He tells Cheney the truth and won't get on board with the lie everyone else is pushing.
So Cheney and his boys start calling around all the media outlets telling everyone that Joe Wilson's wife Valerie Plame Wilson was actually a NOC [sic], the most dangerous kind of spy because they have no diplomatic protection. You get caught you get a bullet kind of spy. Ruined her career of course and probably got some contacts killed, but that's how evil they were. The only outcome of all that fukkery was Scooter Libby one of Cheney's aides I think was convicted of intentionally leaking her identity. But Bush commuted his sentence. And that's how they all work. All these Nixon acolytes subscribe to the Unary Executive theory that the Presidency is basically untouchable because all you have to do is pardon anyone who gets busted and so long as everyone keeps their mouth shut and waits for their pardon, it's impossible to investigate the President's crimes thoroughly.
