Another solid episode. Not sure I'm liking how they are introducing the Spores element. But, how they're boxing it in works for now. The way they are using the smarter infected, especially since there was a group of them that really added to the suspense.
Zaslav should've just gave this 10 episodes

Gotta say, for a show that has decided to grab its audience by the hand and tell them how every character feels and what motivations they have, I'm very surprised they decided to keep Ellie's PTSD about Joel so "hidden". I would've thought the way things were set up this season we would've gotten a couple of quick flashbacks of Joel's dead body/getting killed when Ellie grabbed the guitar -it's implied she stops because she remembers Joel- and specially when Nora talks to her.
Sooo glad they started the episode with Ellie acknowledging how fukking dumb it is for her and Dina to got through this suicide mission. I'm not entirely convinced with the reasoning the show gave them as opposed to the original material but I very much appreciate Mazin trying to find a way to justify Ellie and Dina staying in Seattle.
Dina killing someone at 8 years old was not on my bingo card, holy shyt

the way this episode went. I feel like they can squeeze a third season out. But, Season 3 needs to be a tight 10, with a couple of longer episodes and then call it good. A 4th season will be absolutely too much.

They've said from the beginning they are splitting the 2nd game in two seasons. So they basically got 14 eps (maybe 15?) to adapt it.

No. I know they're doing a third season. I just know I want at least 10 episodes. I feel like more than that might be a stretch, but I think 10 episodes with maybe a 90 minute midseason/early episode and a 90 minute finale work.

Ehh, I think the episode count is fine (7 + 7 or 7 + 8 for season 2 and 3). The only annoyance will be the wait between seasons tbh.
I guess if you look at is a 7+8 for season 2 and 3. That probably makes more sense to encompass the 2nd game.
