I do like the fact that they showed Joel caught off guard by Ellie being gay in the show. That could have happened in the game also but since we follow Ellie’s POV he could have processed it better off-screen.

Joel is a true blue-blue collar Texan, i wouldn’t expect him to just be super cool about it off the bat like a millennial parent.

Couple things…

Glad they cleared up that Joel knew the cure was possible. So now people can stop that bullshyt about maybe it wouldn’t have worked. It’s irrelevant, for story purposes it works and Joel doomed the world.

This episode reminded me how much better the show is with Pedro. It’s like significantly better sheesh. I don’t know how they are gonna handle S3, I get the feeling nobody gives a flying fukk about any characters in this outside of Joel and he’s dead.

Imagine having to lose your family to this bullshyt zombie shyt… all because Joel choose to save some dike with a bad attitude he met earlier in the year. I’d be right there with Abby cheering that shyt on.

Everybody reacts differently. Just cuz he can count now doesnt mean he wouldve made it all the way. Besides they wouldve been going slower because they wouldve had to watch him in case he turned. Ellie shouldve just shut the hell up and let Joel handle it in the first place.

This was my second favorite episode after episode 2

Joel/Pedro's presence has been missed the last few episodes (obviously they can't bring him back)

I didn't expect a 1980s flashback with a young Joel, Tommy and their dad

Joel showed that he's cold-blooded once again. Eugene could've gotten to see his wife before he died.

And yeah, they finally showed Ellie finding out that Joel slaughtered the Fireflies in Salt Lake

Agreed.

The entire premise of The Last of Us would be gone if the cure wasn't going to work. Obviously, a cure would've worked, but Joel didn't care about that.


And yes, of course, I understand that he saved Ellie because he started to view her as a "daughter" but like I've said multiple times in this thread, actions have consequences (in numerous ways)
