Last third of the episode was clunkier than the first two thirds which were almost flawless

". Without having to control the characters like in the game, I feel less of a need to exact revenge on the Wolves
I just want these kids to be happy in that fukked up world. I feel less
about the whole thing. Like, I took it less personally than in the game and I'm not seeing Ellie or Dina taking it like that so far either, they are just having a fukked up adventure
I think they should’ve showed Dina asking Ellie more questions about being immune and Ellie should’ve also showed her the bite she got on her stomach when they were on patrol. They basically yada yada’d her immunity.
The bite on her stomach doesn't look like a bite. Ellie made sure to cut around it to look like a different kind of injury and not a bite (we see that in ep. 1) and then she stitches herself up. The only bite she has to show is the one on her other arm and we learn she burned herself to hide it.
You are right they yada yada'd Dina finding out Ellie is immune but as an audience there's nothing new for us to know about it. I guess they could've made a quick sequence of them talking over some music or something but I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
I forgot in season 1 there was no mention of spores (i think).
