I remember Vibe magazine in 2008 asked Dre did he see The Chronic as his defining effort and he was like he didn't feel like he had made his best record yet.

But he said he thought the closest he had gotten to his best was The Marshall Mathers LP but he still felt like he hadn't hit it "100 percent perfect".

Not my favorite Em album but def his moment and creative peak.

A lot of revisionist history but even back then...some of the same shyt you see happening with Kendrick happened with Em. A lot of the people who fukked with him before he signed to Aftermath jumped ship like a lot of fans of underground acts who don't feel special anymore once their favorite artist blows up. Some people just don't fukk with him and that's fair...a lot of people were just trying to counteract the hype. I was never on the hype train, I always fukked with Em heavy because of his skill from day one.

I can't really be a big fan of you if I don't listen to your shyt and get kinda jealous...Em had plenty of moments that made me go "I wish I could do that."

Remember Me was grimy too :whew:

Sticky Fingaz killed that shyt.

"So think what I'ma do to you, have done to you
Got nikkas in my hood who'd do that shyt for a blunt or two"

:damn:

Eminem's rhyme scheme in his verse was insane. And his commentary on Columbine was nice too.

"Sick sick dreams of picnic scenes, two kids, sixteen
with M-16's and ten clips each
And them shyts reach through six kids each
And Slim gets blamed in Bill Clint's speech to fix these streets?"

Yup. I seen it happen time and time again.

I'd been checking out his music since 98' back when 1 of my nikkas from around my way had these cds w/ a bunch of Em's freestyles on em' and I remember thinking, "this motherfukker crazy". lol

Then I remember hearing his songs on the Soundbombing 2 (Any Man) and Next Friday soundtrack (Murder) soundtracks.

I never let some of his goofy singles fool me, cause I knew that just his angle and gimmick to run with. Cause a lot of cats I knew what even giving him a chance based off his some of his singles.

You right on point @SunZoo
