See this... This right here is why people use the n word.

Because it's OFFENSIVE. These folks online using the word indiscriminately use it because they think it's edgy to be someone who is offensive and doesn't give a fukk.

I'm telling yall. The way to limit the amount people use it is to NOT REACT EMOTIONALLY when it's used. React as if someone called you a fakkit or an a$$hole. If you take the offensive part from it, it's just another word. I get it's not that easy, especially if it comes from a cocky white boy behind a computer screen, but we have to try.

Ultimately, I think once we rise up out of our shytty situation the word will begin to lose meaning. We take such offense to it because we're still in such a bad place. Compare it to a beaten wife who has been abused and has had slurs hurled at her all the time by her husband. These words will cut deep because he controls every aspect of her life AND SHE KNOWS IT. Now say they divorce, she finds a new man that treats her right, finds a good job, works on herself, do you think the husband's words will have any impact on her?? Of course not, she is confident in herself now and understands that the words this piece of shyt says has very little meaning. Now of course the ex husband will hold her back (white supremacy), but after she is finally able to break through, the ex will have a decreasing effect on her life. That is the point we as black folk need to reach.

Don't confuse this with the actual act of racism where we are institutionally oppressed. That is not what I'm saying. All I'm addressing is the word and how we can mitigate it's effects. I'll be honest with y'all, shyt makes me mad when I see us being emotionally manipulated by the word. We just look soft and weak.

For all you extra folk, don't take this the wrong way. Read through it and understand my point of view before attacking

I don't really have the wherewithal to give an in-depth response, but I thought this was interesting: "Ultimately, I think once we rise up out of our shytty situation the word will begin to lose meaning. We take such offense to it because we're still in such a bad place."

What makes you think that we'll "rise up out of our situation"? Anti-Blackness is a very global thing-it's mad deep; super systematic, etc. Tbh, IF we get into a better position societally, is that supposed to negate the history that the word holds?

Only way for that word to lose meaning is if everybody calls everybody by that word. Let cacs, Asians, Latinos be the nikkas they want to be. Why have a sense of ownership over a word that was used to put down black people? Let all these other races put each other down by using that same word.

People who don't think black folk can rise out of our situation do not have a great understanding of history.
If you don't think it's in our capacity, then look up the ancient civilizations of Africa thread. That will give you more confidence in what we are capable of.

Remember slavery is not new. People have revolted and rose from it through revolution or cunning strategy many times in the past.

If you think white folks are gonna stay on top forever I feel sorry for you:mjcry:

The world is cyclical, both literally figuratively. Every group will have their time on top and on bottom. I'm sure of it.

And if you don't think so, look up the details about the medieval ages where whites were living like pigs in their own shyt and filth. They had to wear wigs because of alarming rates of syphilis, black lung disease, etc.

The moors came and conquered/CIVILIZED them, while also taking many slaves.... Now look at white people:mjgrin:

Even if you don't believe it. Look at the facts and history. That will allow you to make an informed decision. Good luck

N***a is a meaningless word at this point, it really has no specific meaning when it's used in every sense. N***er on the opposite spectrum is just another slur derived from cacs which essentially means undesirable from their depraved POV. Hence why cacs can spew s*** like "Asian-n***er" or "Sand-n***er". Historically speaking we know which specific people the slur was intended for, but it's b*stardized at this point. I can't tell bruh's not to trip knowing the historical significance behind the word, but I know the -er variant ain't cutting me cause I don't subscribe myself to being a undesirable . I still use n***a habitually though :manny: probably could cut it out the vocab I just don't think too much of it to really care.

Yea breh, the historical factor is huge that's why I understand why folks get emotional. But part of being a man is controlling those emotions. We have to respond not react.

I'm all for dudes beating someone's ass for disrespect, but go about it in a calm way. Don't raise your voice or be extra. Just ask them to repeat themselves then do what you gotta do :yeshrug:

Just don't be EMOTIONAL is my thing
