Mack has highest PFF 2015 preseason grade at any position
If you weren't already aware of how dominant
Khalil Mack has been this preseason, just look at his preseason grade on
Pro Football Focus. Over three preseason games, Mack has a grade of +15.5 which is the highest of any player at any position.
The former fifth overall pick is in the top five at his position in stops (6), QB hurries (6), and sacks (2).
Mack's grade isn't just the highest in the NFL, it's far and away higher than anyone else. There is only one other player in the league with a grade in double figures. That's
Broncos' Shaquil Barrett with a grade of +11.1.
Most of Mack's grade came Sunday against the
Cardinals where he received a grade of +11.3 which was the highest of the week in the league. Helping him earn that grade was his two sacks. He also played a lot more snaps than he had in the first two games.
This is nothing new for Mack who was the second highest graded player (+55.3) at any position over last season behind only Defensive Player of the Year, JJ Watt (+107.5).
Mack's grade is likely to stay as it is because the starters don't normally see time in the final preseason game. Best to sit him anyway. We've seen all we need to see.
