solvents = sniffing chemicals?

this seems a bit out of whack :ld: or maybe just underscores that alcohol is more harmful than people realize
Sniffing solvent is a cheap but nasty way of getting high. Here are some examples following the continents :
LINK : Inhalant abuse in differents continents, source : Wikipedia

And yeah, alcohol is that harmful.
When addicted, this is a slow poison ruining both your body, mind and social life. Plus, alcohol addicts don't enjoy it, they just do it because their mind and boy need it.

I'm pretty sure their harm scores involve the costs/harm to society as well.

Amy Winehouse died trying to quit drinking alcohol. Just because its legal doesn't mean its safe. Cigarettes are legal and they kill millions of people.
Yes, if you look at the tables the third group is the social harm.

And to be more precise about Winehouse : she did died because of alcohol but not because she was trying to quit, but because she relapsed and overdosing after weeks of abstinence which is deadly.
Abstinence make your tolerance to a product decrease and the body can't take the same amount it used to be able to. Winehouse may have drink a quantity she was used to, but her body couldn't take it anymore because of that.
