Obviously I won't force my boy into being a kicker
but...
Think about it brehs, how many kids train from day 1 to be a kicker? These guys are mostly failed soccer players coming in the NFL and cleaning up. Even if they played football all of HS, you're really telling me these kids were TRAINING to be kickers in Middle School? TRAINING for THAT at day 1? Since they were 5 years old?
Look at these kids hoopin now or in any sport, they've been going HARD (
) since they dropped out the womb
The average salary of an NFL kicker/punter is ~$1.5mil with the boys at the top making over $4mil/yr, AND THEIR CAREERS LAST. You can last in the NFL for a long time as a kicker. Janikowski will have made $50+mil when he retires for kicking a ball far
Their average earnings were higher than running backs in 2013!
I'm not saying being a kicker is easy
but it really comes down to having strong legs and being able to kick it straight. It's not like being a running back, wide receiver, NBA player, where you need INSANE amounts of god given talent. You're not competing with Calvin Johnson and LeBron James, no disrespect but you're competing with this guy
AND HE MIGHT BE THE BEST TO EVER DO IT(he not im wilin)
I've always said I never want my kids to play football, but these boys not playin football
injuries they get? A hamstring. Yeah they will get hit on a very rare occasion, but it's pretty damn safe back there. These guys are coming out of there careers mobile, they're functional too. Other brehs are leaving the game crippled physically and mentally
I remember a friend I had in high school. He was just a soccer player with a cannon for a leg. Started being a kicker his junior year in high school and was getting recruited by D1 programs like it was nothing
My boy gonna be EATING scholarships, free college education EASY brehs
TL;DR no one trains to be a kicker from a young age. They make a ton of cash, more than the average running backs, and you're not competing with freak athlete LeBrons everywhere. This is primed to be taken over. Easy money. Easy scholarships.
