I agree, but hunting deer for meat is not the same as hunting for sport.

I like venison as much as the next guy, but that doesn't mean that I support SPORT shooting.

You should only hunt for food, or if the animal is doing damage to the crops and people, but hunting for sport always left me feeling weird... because you hunting rare animals and making others extinct.... I hunted when I was younger, and I'm totally for it....WHEN you're hunting for meat and it's done safely and respectfully with an animal whose populations need to be culled.

When you're killing something just for fun, just for bragging rights, killing some rare species...pisses me off.

The way people like that hunt is bullshyt too. Some guide does all the damn work, you're basically just his money needing to shoot straight and little else.

There is a different between trophy hunting and poachers. It's up to the African country to regulate this, as Kenya who outlawed hunting. Trophy hunting is like what lottery tickets or Jersey casino trips for us to the elite. They spend hundreds of thousands at a time and which often results in no kill - this is why countries allow it as the money is suppose to go to conservation and local population (often it doesn't). There are regulations, it's not like the 1800s.

Banning import will not save the elephants no more than banning prostitution will stop whores and tricks. Also, hunting is very different in other countries than it is in America as it is a sport for the elite as lands are more privatized and ammo is expensive (at least when I lived in Europe) so that alone is one regulation. Not the same as your fishing permit or hunting with your uncle in the woods. Now canned hunting is a completely different story
