Yet Another Wrestling Myth Everybody Needs to Get Over in 2015–“HE’S NOT READY

It’s become an absolute joke to me whenever so-called “critics” who cover professional wrestling sling around this catch phrase when they don’t believe that a certain wrestler should be come a company’s Champion—“HE’S NOT READY.” I swear to you, just those three words make me chuckle every, single time that I hear them. Now, I can completely understand that statement when it comes from a fellow wrestler who is competing for the spot, and he uses that term to “politically” bury the guy that his company is pushing, but when some jabron who writes about fake wrestling says it—it’s absolutely hysterical.

The reason is simple—NOT READY FOR WHAT? Not ready to win a fake Championship belt? Is that what he’s not ready for? Now, where there may be some credence to a guy not being ready to join the main roster because he’s still a bit green around the gills, there is absolutely ZERO creed in him “not being ready” to grab the brass ring once he’s all ready there. It’s just an absolute ridiculous and asinine statement. I’m starting to hear that more and more when it comes to Roman Reigns, and it’s really becomes more and more pathetic each time it’s said. If you personally don’t want Roman Reigns to win the WWE Title because you rather it go to an Ambrose, a Bryan, or a Rollins—who are all “ready” I guess—then just say that. Because when you declare that Roman Reigns is “not ready”, you just sound ignorant.

Of course when you hear the argument over and over again, the only strike against Reigns that they ever talk about is that in their opinion, “Reigns can’t “talk”. Really? And, Bob Backlund could? Do any of these curtain jerkers understand that Bob Backlund held the WWF title longer then even HULK HOGAN? As a matter of fact, the only one who had a longer WWE Title reign in history was Bruno Sammartino. Yes, it’s different today, 1,000% different, HOWEVER—Backlund still had to sell tickets. And how did that usually work—-by the heel talking the people in the house when he declared so eloquently how he was going to dismember the Champ. That’s why you book Reigns against credible heels EARLY, as he continues to craft his promo chops.

Not ready—please. What made Daniel Bryan ready, and not Roman Reigns? Because Bryan was more the “wrestler type”, and Reigns is more the “sports-entertainer”? That’s really what you’re trying to say . . . isn’t it? If so—then say it. Say that you’re a mark for grappling and rolling around on the mat, and Roman Reigns only has five moves. Because, in all honesty—that’s what you’re saying, and that’s what I’m hearing. But the fact of the matter is—the casual fans who represent the masses, want to see a WWE Champion WHO LOOKS THE PART. Not a guy who can “work” a fake wrestling match. Nobody outside of the Internet Wrestling Community cares about that—NOBODY. And, if the WWE starts catering strictly to the IWC . . . then they’re in even more trouble then it appears.

Reigns IS READY. Maybe the hacks writing the columns saying he’s not . . . should analyze their own “credibility” when it comes to them being LEGITIMATE “critics”.

I disagree. I'm usually against the "he's not ready" argument, but if you have Daniel Bryan there, why not take advantage of him. Honestly, I think they've finally considered the possiblity of him flopping, and they got the best X-Mas present ever in Daniel Bryan returning. Lol @ him insinuating that casual fans don't like Bryan.

Rollins is the most ready of all three and this isn't some IWC shyt. It's shown every week on TV. Russo trying to rile up smarks using the looks argument, but he knows that shyt he wrote was dumb. Reigns isn't great at talking or wrestling, and beating Brock isn't going to have the effect that they think. Unless he kills Jerry Lawler on-screen in the upcoming months, Brock will have a tame run as a heel champion and they go into Mania with a lukewarm main event.

If Vince says Reigns is ready, fair enough. He is a Sports Entertainer type.

But then that's the problem now, because your saying that non-wrestling ability will help him get over with every fan. With Creative how it is, they start and stop so many angles and their story lines are flat. With the Shield, Roman just had to be quiet and brood, and now your pushing him under the spotlight thinking he will ether like the Rock. Sure he can improve under the mic, but it won't help when Creative puts him in a dull angle that will eventually have win clean 99% of the time. That's why everyone is high on people who can wrestle, because they know the storylines will be utter shyt to care about the Sports Entertainers.

Lets not forget about Cena, his presence will always makes sure his merchandise is Number #1; always.

Russo is absolutely right about the heels being the ones talking fans into both becoming fans of certain wrestlers and getting them to come to the buildings to support them, most of us are here talking in this forum because some heel at some point made us mad enough to support who we support. Shout out to the Four Horsemen

Problem is they are reluctant to let the true heels be heels right now, they gotta let these cats mule kick each other, distract the refs and rip up a little kid's signs every now and then (not every soccer mom is easily offended)

I don't like how it looks like they're in a hurry to crown Roman Reigns but that's more of a preference thing as I like the slow methodical approach to crowning someone BUT I've always been in favor of new blood rising and giving someone a fair chance to sink or swim. Reigns already has the two $$$ fanbases in his corner it seems. Moms and kids.

i am not a russo hater, in fact sometimes i enjoy watching him shoot. but i disagree with him here. roman reigns is a passable champion only if you are grading on a curve.

he has 2 things going for him. the apron kick and the superman punch. that's pretty much it. not sure how that qualifies him as the top guy. plus bryan proved this past monday that he is way, way ahead of him.

roman got that industry push. but i don't care how many times you play his song on the radio, i don't buy him as a superstar yet.

A wrestler who "looks the part"? From the guy who first booked Jeff Jarrett as a world champ over Hulk Hogan?

And what the fukk happened to suspending disbelief? In a time where fighters move weight classes often why cant a smaller guy beat a bigger one in the realm of PRO WRESTLING? Some nerve of Russo calling anyone a hack

He called Reigns a sports entertainer. That doesn't even make any sense. Reigns has yet to do a money promo and has not had a 3 star singles match except against Bryan last year.

they're all sports entertainers now, that's the problem. they're not wrestlers anymore.

wrestlers wanna win the match, sports entertainers wanna put on a good show.

mr. perfect told you how he was gonna get in that ass, dolph ziggler just wants to "steal the show". when hogan challenged an opponent it was because he wanted to the title, when cena goes out there he just wants to give these a fan a show and have the best possible match.

you wanna know why the belt feel's so prestigious right now? because it currently sits around the waist of a WRESTLER.
