Was Martin Lawrence a C--n :patrice:??

Watching the first episode of Martin, he does a lot of the things that Tyler Perry does that the brehs of the coli say they absolutely abhor (nikka gotta mean vocab don't I ).

Wearing a dress? CHECK

Negative stereotypes of black people? CHECK

Black woman who was more successful than him? CHECK

Loud belligerent black woman (Pam)? CHECK

And all of this was in the first episode .

So was Martin Lawrence a c00n reinforcing stereotypes of white supremacy like the breh Tyler Perry ???

Or does Martin get a pass since we enjoy his brand of comedy ???

yes he was and i've seen plenty of nikkas say Martin was a GOAT show. They ain't got no room to fukking talk about Tyler being a c00n.

This is going to be a good discussion. The first thing we have to do is define "c00n." Ive seen it thrown around here for some time but we need a definition to apply to this question.

Anyway, addressing point number 3. Martin and Gina were equally successful. She and Pam seemed to do pretty well at their jobs.

Also, number 1 should be excluded because wearing a dress is like a comedy rite of passage.

I mean he wasn't the main producer or a writer, but yep he did c00n it up for a chance to be famous; eventually had a breakdown like all black comedians feeling guilty and used by Hollywood.

Pam was only "belligerent" because of Martin constantly putting her down in favor of Gina.

There's been plenty of episodes where he hasn't said shyt to her and she was cool.

Well since no one wants to try and define c00n, I can definitely say I dislike martin because he did dress in drag...that was the only times I did not watch the show...I can;t stand to see that shyt; other than that, the show was dynamic in that it showed various class entanglements...Cole cleaned airplanes, public sector work; martin was a talk show host/radio host, middle class; Gina and Pam were as well, and we still never found out what the hell Tommy does; but they were all doing their thing and they were moral, upstanding people. There were good examples of black success on that show

The difference is, Martin's not believed to be gay in real life like Tyler Perry.

That's all these nikkas really care about, no matter how much they talk about all that other shyt.
